How do we treat each other in the body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12

4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5

There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

8To one there is given through the Spirit

the message of wisdom,

to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,

9to another faith by the same Spirit,

to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

10to another miraculous powers,

to another prophecy,

to another distinguishing between spirits,

to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,

and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit,

and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Gifts are given by the Spirit to manifest our service to the Lord

as if God is doing the work through us.

One Body

12The body is a unit,

though it is made up of many parts;

and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.

In Christ we are all one unit made up of many races, cultures and genders but we are all one in Christ. Because we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body. This mean that all who believe are in the crucifixion of Christ: we died, and resurrected with Christ.

13For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

God gives the gifts to each of us to manifest through His body as one unity, so in God's reality your gift is also in me, because we share the same Spirit; however you are the one who is manifesting the gift, but it is as if, I was the one manifesting the gift. That is why, when you are manifesting the gift, I can rejoice and when you are suffering, I must suffer with you.

Principles on how to relate with in the body: Your spiritual gifts are to manifest and behave in this way

22On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

IN THE BODY OF CHRIST WE ARE TO TREAT EACH PART AS EQUAL

-the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor.

-the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty

-our presentable parts need no special treatment

-give greater honor to the parts that lacked it

-should be no division in the body

-have equal concern for each other

-If one part suffers, every part suffers with it;

-if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

Do you think you are a leader, full of knowledge, understanding walking in obedience and having a fulfilled walked in the Lord?

You the need no special treatment.

So why the you expect to be seated in a special place. Why the you expect to be receive and treated with glory? Why do you expect that everyone treat you with honor? If you are presentable, you need no special treatment. You are complete in Christ: you know you are acceptable, secure and significant in Christ.

What about those that are weak, carnal and lacking understanding? What about does you think, are wrong and lacking revelation? You are to give greater honor to the parts that lacked it. You are to treat them with respect, love, considering him/her is someone of great value.

And when you see the new sister in the Lord that is living with her boyfriend without being married, the brother that still smoke and the noise hyperactive child whom dad and mom do not act like Christians, do you think they are less honorable? The God says that you are to treat them with great honor.

What about the stinky homeless, the poor family of the congregation that goes to service dressed with inappropriate clothes? Are they unpresentable? You are to treat them with special modesty.

Do you use your teachings for division, to identify yourself as righteous and others as sinners? Do you reject others that appear to have less wealth, education or recognition, but thrive for being with those of reputation? Do you make a separation between the leaders and the non leaders/ members of the congregation? Should be no division in the body

When you congregate or participate in networks which are Christians do you have equal concern for others? Or you just concern about those you consider to be worthy of your concerns?

You are to have equal concern for each other.

When someone in your congregation is suffering a sickness, do you suffer with them? Have you called them? Have you visited them? Have you taken time to do their house cleaning, or help with their children, animals or lawn?   If one part suffers, every part suffers with it

When someone in your congregation is suffering lack of finances, are you suffering with them? Are you sharing your food with them? Are you helping them to reach the need amount for the energy, car loan, and monthly rent? Are you suffering with your brother and sister in Christ? If one part suffers, every part suffers with it

When someone in your congregation is passing through an adultery, divorce, rape, crime, depression or prison are you suffering with them? If one part suffers, every part suffers with it

“If one part of the body suffers every part suffer with it.” When I read this statement, do not look like a request from God, but more like a declaration of something we are to do. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.

When someone in the body suffers we all are to suffer with him/her. How? You are to suffer by given of yourself by extending yourself to provide for the need that, that part of the body needs. If one part suffers, every part suffer with it

If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When we give greater honor to the parts that lacked it every part in the body is to rejoice. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When we treat with special modesty the parts that are unpresentable every part in the body is to rejoice with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When we give great honor to the parts that lacked every part of the body is to rejoice with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When we act with no division in the body every part of the body rejoices with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When we have equal concern for each other every part rejoices with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

When we suffer with those that suffer every part in the body rejoices with it. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

In the body of Christ when one part is honored, every part in the body should be rejoicing too. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
